The cornerstone to permanent poverty alleviation and long term prosperity for under privileged children is education. Our primary focus is to encourage children to remain in school, recognize their full potential and realize their dream. Education empowerment presents an opportunity to develop & train the next generation of leaders and create a community of great value.
Tuition Assistance Scholarship Program, (TASP)
In pursuit of education empowerment we seek to provide tuition assistance to children particulary girls that excel in sport & demonstrate sound academic proficiency. This is achieved by working with families and individuals that would like to provide that level of tuition assistance. Our goal is to develop a program alumni that someday will likewise give back to the community. Tuition costs start from $150.00/child a year for most rural schools.
Earn The Grade & Get To Play
In an education system where teachers heavily rely on punishing children to get good grades, one of our goals is to promote our program as an alternative to entice kids to excel in their academics. By using the positive values associated with sport methodologies, educators now can encourage children in their classrooms to earn good grades and earn a place on the team. More teachers are migrating towards tying grades to sports access thanks to the consortium of sports disciplines we introduced, (soccer, basketball and volleyball).
Break Social Barriers
The sports based approach we deploy serves as a coping mechanism for children to forget about their social challenges & refocus on the most important resource, education. Overcoming the day to day social challenges requires a social outlet to relieve children of the stress & trauma that they may be experiencing. For that reason, our sports program captivates childrens’ minds, boosts morale, makes them look forward to attending & staying in school.
Social Skills Development
Our program capitalizes on the co-relationship between sport & lifetime skills. Research shows that children that are exposed to sporting activities early in their childhood generally have the tendency to command better communication/ negotiating skills and are more assertive than their counterparts. Our goal is to use sport to transform children into morally, intellectually & academically well rounded individuals.
Closing The Technology Gap
We strive to normalize science & technology as a path for young boys & girls in under served communities to pursue. Getting children, girls in particular to become inquisitive about science & math sets the stage for the next generation of leaders. This program involves collecting & supplying gently used egaming consoles like the Xbox 360, promoting coding classes & robotics resources to rural schools.
